About Phyllis


Phyllis began her fitness career working at the Vic Tanny gyms.
She learned from some of the greats:
Jack LaLanne, Bill Pearl, Joseph Mullen, Specialist Trainer for Med-X and Jack O’Bleniss, President of the Natural Body Building Federation….In January, 1982 Phyllis earned the YMCA Fitness and Personal Trainer Certification and began volunteering as a fitness instructor for the older adult population.

In 1984, while working as an executive secretary at Hamilton Avnet, she began a fitness class for employees.  During this time Phyllis completed the  UCLA Fitness Trainer Certificate Program, and in 1986 she began teaching at the Sports Connection Fitness Clubs and Sports Club L.A. ~ and at Westchester YMCA, where you can still find her today!  

Phyllis has spent the subsequent years continuing to learn, to inspire & to share her passion for health and fitness with those who seek it.
